When a Prison Tender Required a TV That Did Not Exist

How We Helped a European Contractor Win a Government Prison Project

The Challenge

In 2024, a correctional equipment contractor in Europe contacted us regarding a government prison modernization project.

The tender document included a unique requirement:

“Televisions must use transparent housing to prevent the concealment of contraband.”

The problem was simple.

The contractor could not find a suitable supplier.

Most TV manufacturers only offered commercial televisions or hotel TVs.

None could meet the correctional facility specifications.

Without a compliant product, the contractor risked losing the bid entirely.

Our Solution

After reviewing the tender requirements, our engineering team proposed a fully customized transparent prison television.

The project included:

Transparent anti-contraband housing

Tamper-resistant screws

Reinforced speaker protection

Secure mounting design

Multi-language OSD menu

A prototype was developed and tested before tender submission.

The Result

The contractor successfully submitted the product documentation and sample units.

The project was approved.

The first batch of televisions was deployed across multiple correctional housing units.

Today, the contractor continues to source correctional electronics from our factory for future government projects.

Key Takeaway

Sometimes winning a tender is not about offering the lowest price.

It is about finding a manufacturer capable of building exactly what the tender requires.
